2006 by Jane Cottis TV appropriation compliments this first-person journey through lesbian consciousness. A woman goes on the Ellen Degeneres show to discuss what she calls "Lesbian animals." Appropriated segments of the TV show contrast with first person narration and interviews. An inquiry into the biological sources of queer identity blends playfully with media satire. Biography: Cottis has received MFA in Visual Arts from University of California San Diego. She has taught at Otis College of Art and Design, California Institute of the Arts, and the Art Institute in Chicago. Cottis currently teaches at Maryland Institute College of Art.
